As Team Pit-a-Full is comprised of all rescued dogs, the penance they
pay for their new start is our mission:
Be well behaved and set the standard for social ability
Act as ambassadors to their breed; demonstrating friendliness,
comradery, loyalty and love for people and other animals
Serve as public figures that debunk the public stigma/ urban legend of
what a Pit Bull is and is not
Represent all breeds that have faced stereotyping and profiling,
discrimination, and breed specific illogical/ ineffective laws
Lobby for Generalized Dangerous Dog Ordinances (GDDO) that base
prosecution and consequences on individual behavior vs. breed or
appearance, and holds irresponsible owners liable for the actions of
their dog
To persuade legislator to instill more stringent penalties for animal
abusers, dog fighters, those who cage or tether their dog for
prolonged amounts of time, backyard breeders, and those who
neglect their dog by denying healthy food, clean water, adequate
shelter, exercise, socialization, and veterinary care.
To demonstrate that with proper diet, ample exercise, regular
socialization, constant structure and discipline, spay or neutering, and
any needed medical care; these and most dogs belonging to the Bully
Breeds are just like every other dog. They are family members, they
are companions to children and the elderly, they are therapy dogs,
they are Police K-9’s as well as Search and Rescue dogs, and are very
social with other breeds.
This mission is carried out through public appearance, speaking with
groups and at pet events, posting statements in the media, and
though organization of special events that bring the public and the
True Pit Bull together.
